English actress Julia Karin Ormond was born 59 years ago in Epsom, Surrey, is divorced and has a daughter.
Julia took her education in high school, art school and then the Academy of Art from where she graduated at the age of 23. The following year, she was offered her first acting role in a TV serial which turned out very successful.y
At the beginning of the 90s, Julia starred in more TV movies such as ‘Young Catherine’ and ‘Stalin’. Her big screen debut arrived in 1993 when she interpreted a leading role in the international film ‘The Baby of Macon’, followed by ‘Legends of the Fall’ the year after, alongside Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins. By the end of that decade, Ormond starred in 4 more movies, namely ‘First Knight’, ‘Sabrina’, ‘Smilla’s Sense of Snow’ and ‘The Barber of Siberia’. In 1999, she also voiced the character of ‘Jesse’ in the film ‘Animal Farm’.
In the last 23 years, Julia appeared in 19 movies and 18 TV films/series. She is also expected to star in two upcoming films: ‘Reminisce’ and ‘Home Education’, of which release is still to be announced.
Ormond is an avid philanthropist and supports various non-profit humanitarian organisations regarding human trafficking, AIDS etc and in 2007 founded ASSET – The Alliance to Stop Slavery and End Trafficking.
