American actor and film director Tommy Lee Jones was born 77 years ago in San Saba Texas, is married and has 2 children.
After attending secondary school and graduating, Tommy went to college where he graduated with honours obtaining a BA degree in English. After finishing his studies, he moved to New York to pursue an acting career.
His first acting debut was in 1969 when he performed several supporting roles in a play, followed by a movie part a year later. For the rest of the 70s, Tommy performed in some more theatrical plays plus interpreting several characters in different movies.
Jones continued with his career, becoming more and more famous over the years. He appeared in numerous films of different genres, from crime drama to action thrillers, sci-fi to western to superhero movies, etc. To name a few: ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’, ‘JFK’, ‘The Fugitive’, ‘Men in Black’, ‘Cobb’, ‘Under Siege’, ‘The Client’, ‘US Marshalls’, ‘Space Cowboys’, ‘In the Valley of Elah’ and ‘No Country for Old Men’. He has also produced/directed 3 films and appeared in various TV films and series.
Recently, a movie named ‘Finestkind’ in which Tommy stars in was released and he will also be appearing in another film named ‘The Burial’, which is due for release in the US in early October.
During his +50-year career, Jones received 32 awards, including a Golden Globe, an Academy and an Emmy.
