Thomas Anders (born as Bernd Weidung), was born on March 1st, 1963 in Koblenz, Germany, has 2 siblings and is married to Claudia Hess and has a son. He was the lead singer of duo ‘Modern Talking’.
‘Modern Talking’ was created in 1983 together with Dieter Bohlen. They became very popular after releasing numerous hits like ‘Cheri Cheri Lady’, ‘You’re my Heart, You’re My Soul’, ‘Brother Louie’, ‘Atlantis is Calling’, ‘No Face No Name No Number’ and sold millions of records globally. However, the duo dissolved in 1987 and reunited again in 1998, when they released various songs, but again, they went their own ways in 2003.
Thomas performed as a solo artist after both dissolvements but did not achieve the same success as with Modern Talking. He was very popular, however, in European Eastern Countries like Russia, Poland and even issued an album in Spanish which went well too in Spain. In the 2000’s, he issued an album in his native language, German, after 35 years since he started his singing career and is still active to this day.
In fact, recently he was here in Malta together with his band and gave a concert on Valentine’s Day at the MFCC, Ta’ Qali.
