American actress Cameron Michelle Diaz was born 50 years ago in San Diego, California, is married and has a daughter. Apart from acting, she is also an author and businesswoman.
At the age of 16 whilst still a high school student, Cameron started modelling and appeared in some TV high brands’ commercials. Her acting career began when she was 21, when she attended an audition for the comedy movie ‘The Mask’ alongside Jim Carrey and was chosen as lead actress. Since Cameron had never acted before, she started taking lessons after being given the role. This film was a huge success and made Cameron a sex symbol.
During the rest of the 90s, Cameron starred in various movies of different genres, namely ‘The Last Supper’, ‘Feeling Minnesota’, ‘She’s the One’, ‘Head Above Water’, ‘A Life less Ordinary’, ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’, ‘There’s Something about Mary’ and ‘Feeling John Malkovich’, amongst others.
Until 2014, Cameron continued with her acting career and took part in many more films which were mostly all very successful. She also ‘gave’ her voice as Princess Fiona in the animated movie ‘Shrek’ and its sequels. After that year, Diaz revealed that she was tired from having to travel for filming and decided to take a career break.
Cameron wrote 2 health books and even started her own health business. In 2020, together with her business partner, she introduced an organic wine brand to the market. She is also an activist with regards to the environment, particularly the climate change. She also supports a non-profitable organisation regarding the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars veterans.
During her career, Cameron won over 25 awards, including 4 Blockbuster Entertainment, 2 Teen Choice, and 2 ALMA, to name a few. She is supposed to resume acting this year.
