Canadian singer Corey Mitchell Hart was born 61 years ago in Montreal, Quebec, is married and has 4 children. He is also a songwriter and musician.
At the age of 11, Corey interpreted the song ‘Ben’ for Tom Jones as well as recorded songs with Paul Anka. Seven years later, he represented his country in a music festival held in Tokyo. Back home, he recorded various demos with singer Billy Joel and his band and other Canadian musicians.
In 1983, Hart’s debut album was released, featuring the US Top 10 hit ‘Sunglasses at Night’ and Top 20 hit ‘It Ain’t Enough’. Following this initial success, Corey embarked on a US & Canadian tour in 1984 which continued til early 1985. His second album came out in 1985 and was as successful as the previous one, so much so that the track ‘Never Surrender’ included in this album was a number one in his country for 9 consecutive weeks. Another 3 singles made it to the US Top 40.
Hart continued gaining popularity with the release of his third album and embarking on an extensive world tour. After taking a much needed break, Corey got back to writing songs and released his fourth album plus touring once again. Since 1990, 14 albums were issued, plus several singles and music videos.
During his +40-year career, Corey received various awards and honours including 2 Juno awards and 4 ADISQ awards and was also inducted in both Canada’s Walk of Fame as well as the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
