Canadian actor Ryan Rodney Reynolds was born 47 years ago in Vancouver, British Columbia, is married and has 4 children. He is also producer, writer and businessman.
When he was 13 years old, Ryan started acting in some TV series in minor roles. He graduated from secondary school and continued acting, however, he decided to quit as he was disheartened and instead opted to go to university. Some time afterwards, he met an actor friend and travelled with him to Los Angeles to try his luck once again in the film industry.
Reynolds acting debut arrived in 1991 when he was cast in the soap opera ‘Hillside’ and interpreted his character for a couple of years. For the rest of the 90s, he appeared in various roles both on TV as well as in movies. These include ‘Ordinary Magic’, ‘The Odyssey’, ‘Syzygy’, ‘In Cold Blood’ and ‘Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place’, amongst others.
Ryan mainly starred in romantic comedies, but he was also cast in many different film genres, including thrillers, action, crime, sci-fi and superhero movies. Over the years he rose to international fame, particularly when he starred in ‘X-Men’ and ‘Deadpool’.
Since the beginning of his career, Reynolds appeared in over 50 movies and 20 TV programmes, some of which he also wrote, produced and directed, as well as voiced animated movie/TV characters. In 2024, he is expected to star in two films named ‘Deadpool 3’ and ‘IF’, of which he is also writer and producer.
Reynolds is also a business entrepreneur and a philanthropist who supports several charitable institutions. In 2017, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is a Critics’ Choice Movie and a Golden Globe Award nominee.
