American actress Kirsten Caroline Dunst was born 42 years ago in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, is married and has 2 sons.
At just 3 years old, Kirsten started appearing in TV commercials as a fashion model kid. Three years later, she was a guest in a variety show and subsequently made her big screen debut in a small role of a short film directed by Woody Allen. This was followed by a part in the 1990 movie ‘The Bonfire of the Vanities’, alongside Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis, amongst others. Afterwards, she guest appeared in an episode of ‘Star Trek: the Next Generation’.
In 1994, Dunst made a career breakthrough when she interpreted the character of ‘Claudia’ in the horror-drama film ‘Interview with the Vampire’, starring also Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. That same year, she also acted in the drama movie ‘Little Women’.
Kirsten continued with her career and appeared in numerous films of different genres including, comedy, drama, adventure, satirical etc. She, however, rose to stardom in 2002 when she played the role of Mary Jane Watson in the superhero film ‘Spiderman’. She reprised the same role in the sequels ‘Spiderman 2’ in 2004 and ‘Spiderman 3’ in 2007, all alongside actor Toby McGuire as Spiderman.
In the last 2 decades, Dunst appeared in over 20 movies and 5 TV productions. She has also written and directed 2 short films and voiced several animated movie characters. Her most recent film was ‘Civil War’ released this year.
Apart from acting, Kirsten recorded some songs which she sang in movies she starred in, as well as appeared in some bands’ music videos. Albeit, she stated that she had no intention of releasing any albums.
Dunst is an active philanthropist and supports several charitable institutions regarding AIDS, breast cancer etc.
During her career so far, Kirsten received 42 awards out of 76 nominations. These include 2 Young Artist, 3 YoungStar, 2 Saturn, 3 Satellite and 2 MTV Movie, amongst others.
