American singer-songwriter and actor Marc Anthony was born 56 years ago as Marco Antonio Muniz Rivera in New York city, is married and has 7 children.
When he was a child, Marc learnt to sing in English and Spanish, with his father who was a professional guitarist as his teacher. He also listened to several music genres and artists including rhythm and blues, rock, pop and salsa.
Marc’s career began as a singer to Latin hip-hop music and underground music performances, as well as writing songs and providing backing vocals for a couple of bands. His first album was released in 1988 and he collaborated with several other artists by composing songs for them, provide backing vocals etc.
He rose to fame in the early 90s with his unique salsa style which derived from urban and African American classes, rendering him one of the best salsa artists of the time. During that decade, Anthony released 3 albums, all in the Spanish language. They were extremely successful and made him a top-selling salsa artist in history.
Marc sang in duet ‘No Me Ames’ alongside Jennifer Lopez, as well as the soundtrack of the movie ‘Mask of Zorro’, ‘I want to spend my lifetime loving You’ with Tina Arena. In 1999, an English-language album was issued, which featured the songs ‘I need to Know’ and ‘You sang to Me’.
