American actress Amanda Peet was born 52 years ago in New York City, is married and has 3 children.
When she was 13 years old, Amanda initiated a teen acting programme and in later years went to college. There she did an acting audition and took part in a stage play and eventually decided to pursue a career as an actress. She also studied further and obtained a university degree in American History.
Her acting debut was on TV in a commercial and later in a sitcom episode. In 1995, she appeared for the first time on the big screen in the thriller drama movie ‘Animal Room’, as well as starred in an episode of ‘Law and Order’. For the rest of the 90s, Amanda was cast in several films such as ‘One Fine Day’, ‘She’s the One’ and ‘Playing by Heart’ in which starred established actors like Sean Connery, Michelle Pfeiffer, George Clooney and Cameron Diaz, amongst others. She also had a more significant role in the TV series ‘Jack and Jill’.
Peet’s career breakthrough arrived in 2000 when she starred alongside Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry in the successful movie ‘The Whole Nine Yards’. Since then, Amanda was cast in over 30 movies and 14 TV series. In 2021, she co-created, wrote and was executive producer of a comedy drama TV series named ‘The Chair’.
Apart from acting, Amanda co-wrote a children’s book as well as wrote a play. In addition, she was a spokeswoman for a non-profitable organisation regarding childhood vaccination.
During her career so far, Peet received an Independent Spirit Award in 2010.
