American actress Linda Carroll Hamilton was born 68 years ago in Salisbury, Maryland, is divorced and has 2 children.
Linda attended junior, high school and college in her hometown, and afterwards travelled to New York City to further her studies in acting. Her teacher very much discouraged her as in his opinion she was not going to succeed in acting, albeit, she persevered and continued taking acting lessons by attending workshops taught by another teacher who was also a theatre director.
Hamilton’s career took off in 1979 with a small role in the drama movie ‘Night-Flowers’. The following year, she was offered a major role in the soap opera ‘Secrets of Midland Heights’. Consequently, she also starred in a couple of TV movies as well as an episode in a series. During the 80s, Linda had several roles in films of different genres such as sci-fi, adventure, comedy, drama, supernatural horror etc. These include ‘Children of the Corn’, ‘The Terminator’ and ‘King Kong Lives’. In addition, she also appeared in various TV productions like ‘King’s Crossing’, ‘Hill Street Blues’ and ‘Murder, She Wrote’. In particular, Linda had a leading role in the then popular series ‘Beauty and the Beast’ which ran between 1987 and 1990 with a total of 46 episodes.
Since the beginning of the 90s to date, Linda appeared in 22 movies and 33 TV productions including series, movies and voicing animated characters. She has also voiced 2 video game characters in 2019. Hamilton will be starring in an upcoming sci-fi action film named ‘Osiris’ which released is still to be announced. Moreover, she also has a role in the 5th and final season of the sci-fi horror drama series ‘Stranger Things’, which is expected to air in 2025.
During her career so far, Linda won 18 awards which include 2 Saturn, a Satellite and a Romy, amongst others.
