American-Australian actress and producer Nicole Mary Kidman was born 58 years ago in Honolulu, Hawaii, is married and has 4 children.

When she was 3 years old, Nicole started taking ballet lessons and whilst in primary and high school, she showed her acting talent.  As a teenager, she attended a theatre where she studied mime and drama and got motivated to pursue an acting career, so much so that she left high school.

Nicole’s big screen debut arrived in 1983 when she starred in ‘Bush Christmas’, followed by a supporting role in a TV series.  For the rest of the 80s, Nicole acted in several films and TV productions, but it was the thriller ‘Dead Calm’ released in 1989 which made her a real star, not only in her country but also internationally.

At the beginning of the 90s, she continued gaining more popularity when she starred in the movie ‘Days of Thunder’ alongside her ex-husband Tom Cruise.  She acted again with Tom the following year in ‘Far and Away’.  Other significant films Nicole performed in were ‘To Die For’, ‘The Portrait of a Lady’, ‘The Peacemaker’ and ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, amongst others.

In the last 2 decades, Kidman proceeded with her successful career and continued gaining worldwide recognition with her roles in numerous films of different genres such as ‘Moulin Rouge!’, ‘The Others’, ‘The Hours’, ‘Dogville’, ‘The Human Stain’, ‘Cold Mountain’. ‘Australia’, ‘Nine’ and many more.  In fact, since the commencement of her career, Nicole appeared in over 70 movies and more than 20 TV productions and has also produced some of them. The TV series ‘Scarpetta’, produced by herself and in which she stars as well alongside actress Jamie Lee Curtis, is expected to air later on this year.  Then, in 2026, Kidman is expected to star in another TV series called ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ as well as a movie called ‘Practical Magic 2’.  She also performed in 3 stage plays.

In 2001, Kidman debuted as a singer as well and released the 2 singles ‘Come what May’, which featured in the movie ‘Moulin Rouge!’, and ‘Something Stupid’, sung in duet with Ewan McGregor and Robbie Williams respectively.  The following year, another single ‘One day I’ll fly Away’ was released.  Kidman also appeared in various commercials of renowned brands of perfume, cosmetics, shoes, watches and video games.

Nicole is considered as one of the most exceptional actresses and is also praised for giving her utmost to interpret her characters, making them as credible as possible.  

Kidman is an avid philanthropist and supports various charitable institutions including disadvantaged children all over the world, breast cancer victims etc.

During her long career, Nicole won an impressive 155 awards out of 359 nominations.  These include 25 Film Festival, an Academy, 6 Golden Globe, 2 Primetime Emmy and 4 Satellite, to name a few.
