American actress Drew Blythe Barrymore was born 48 years ago in Culver City, California and has 2 children. She is also a director, producer, author and talk show host.
Drew’s family were all actors or actresses, from parents to grandparents to great-grandparents. So it was no surprise that she would become one too! In fact, at just 11 months old, Drew appeared in a TV commercial and in 1980 had her first movie role. Two years later, she was chosen to act in the blockbuster film ‘E.T. The Extra Terrestrial’, making her a famous child actor.
For the rest of the 80s, Barrymore starred in several other movies including ‘Firestarter’, ‘Irreconcilable Differences’, ‘Cat’s Eye’, ‘See you in the Morning’ and ‘Far from Home’.
During the next decade, Drew continued acting in different film genres, from thriller to drama, from comedy to horror, from western to romantic. To name a few: ‘Scream’, ‘The Wedding Singer’, ‘Never been Kissed’, ‘Bad Girls’, ‘Ever After’ and ‘Batman Forever’. In the last 20 years, she starred in around 20 movies and TV series, and even directed a couple of them. She also guest appeared in a few TV shows.
Apart from acting, Drew was also a cosmetics and jewellery model, photographer for a magazine and had even introduced a fashion line in 2017. She also supports the world’s largest humanitarian organisation ‘World Food Programme’.
So far, Drew received 34 awards including 3 Young Artists, 3 Kids’ Choice, 3 MTV Movie, 3 Blockbuster Entertainment and a Golden Globe, amongst others.
