

Yesterday, Sunday 12th March 2023, the 95th Annual Academy Awards prestigious event took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel. A total of 23 awards were presented during this evening.
Guest singers Lady Gaga and Rihanna gave stunning performances with their original songs ‘Hold my Hand’ and ‘Lift me Up’, both written for the movies ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ respectively.
The award for Best Actor went to Brendan Fraser for his performance in ‘The Whale‘, whilst the award for Best Actress went to Michelle Yeoh for her performance in ‘Everything, Everywhere, All at Once’.
‘Everything, Everywhere, All at Once’ won another 6 Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best Writing (Original Screenplay) and Best Film Editing.
The remaining 15 Oscars went to the following movies:

‘Pinocchio‘ for Best Animated Feature Film
‘All Quiet on the Western Front‘ for Best International Feature Film, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography & Best Music (Original Score)

‘Top Gun: Maverick‘ for Best Sound
‘Avatar: the Way of Water‘ for Best visual Effects
‘RRR‘ for Best Music (Original Song)
‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘ for Best Costume Design
‘The Whale‘ for Best Makeup and Hairstyling
‘An Irish Goodbye‘ for Best Live Action Short Film
