English musician Alan Parsons was born 75 years ago in Willesdon, London, is married and has 4 children. He is also an audio engineer, record producer, composer and director.
When he was 18 years old, Alan started working at a music recording studio as an assistant engineer. He was also a tape operator and produced numerous albums of famous groups like The Beatles, The Hollies, Pink Floyd, Ambrosia and Pilot.
In 1975, Parsons formed the rock band Alan Parsons Project with Eric Woolfson, who was a singer/songwriter and producer. Until they split in 1990, Parsons and Woolfson released 10 studio albums and 38 singles.
Afterwards, Alan continued his career as a solo artist and embarked on several tours around the world together with his band, as well as carried on to collaborate with other musicians. To date, he released 12 albums and 3 singles. He also acted as engineer, producer and executive producer of various artists. Amongst the most popular hits he had are ‘Eye in the Sky’, ‘Don’t Answer Me’ and ‘Time’.
Parsons was nominated for 13 Grammy Awards and in 2019 achieved this prestigious award for the track ‘Eye in the Sky’ for Best Immersive Audio Album. In addition, many countries honoured him with gold and platinum awards and in 2021, he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire for production of music and services to music.
