American actor Scott Stewart Bakula was born 71 years ago in St Louis, Missouri, is married and has 4 children.
Scott studied in college and then went to university, however, he left as he intended to start an acting career. So, in 1976 he moved to New York and gave his first acting performance in a musical called ‘Shenandoah’. Five years later, he debuted on Broadway in another musical and continued performing in stage productions until the end of the 80s. Concurrently, he also appeared in some TV sitcoms, movies and series.
In 1989, Scott was offered the lead role of Dr Sam Beckett in the sci-fi series ‘Quantum Leap’ alongside actor Dean Stockwell. This popular series aired for 5 seasons until 1993 for a total of 97 episodes. Bakula debuted on the big screen in 1990 when he starred in the black comedy movie ‘Sibling Rivalry’.
From the beginning of that decade to date, Scott appeared in 23 films and voiced 2 animated movie characters. He also starred in around 5o TV productions including movies, sitcoms and series. His most significant roles were in the sitcom ‘Murphy Brown’, the series ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’, ‘Star Trek: Enterprise’, ‘Chuck’, ‘Men of a Certain Age’, ‘Looking’ and ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ (of which he was also the producer). In addition, he also performed in 7 theatrical productions.
During his career so far, Bakula won a Golden Globe Awards as well as 5 Viewers for Quality Television Awards.
