MALTA EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2026

MALTA EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2026

Saturday, 17th January 2026, the much-awaited final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest was held at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali, and was hosted by Keane Cutajar and singers Destiny Chukunyere and Gaia Cauchi.

In June 2025, a song-writing camp was held and 80 songs were created.  Interested artists and composers could then submit their competing songs and 18 of them were chosen and announced on a special programme held on 1 December.

During the semi-final night held on 15th January, 18 songs were interpreted, out of which 12 top tracks qualified for the final. Voting was carried out on a 50/50 basis by 10 judges and televoting by the public.

The winning entry of this year’s contest was the song ‘Bella‘ interpreted by Aidan with a total of 283 points.  The track ‘Ejja Lejja Hdejja ‘l Hawn (The Flute)’ by Matt Blxck  placed second, followed by ‘My Sweet Angel‘ sung by Mychael Bartolo Chircop in third place, with 268 points and 136 points respectively.

Coming May, Aidan will be representing Malta in the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Vienna, Austria.

CONGRATULATIONS AND THE BEST OF LUCK AIDAN!
