Ivor Neville Kamen was born in Essex, England on April 15th 1962 and passed away on May 5th 2021.
His career began in 1982, when he appeared in one of the videos by English band Visage. Two years later, he featured on the cover of magazine ‘The Face’ and in 1985 he was the protagonist of the famous Levi ‘launderette’ commercial.
‘Each time you break my Heart’, written and produced by Madonna, was his first single released in 1986. It reached number 5 in the UK charts. In the 2 years that followed, the songs ‘Loving you is sweeter than Ever’ and ‘Tell Me’ were issued. They were both number one hits in Italy. In 1990, Nick released ‘I Promised Myself’, which was among the top ten hits in various countries across Europe. His final album came out in 1992.
Kamen was a guest in several TV shows like ‘Top of the Pops’ and ‘The Tube’, in which he sang a couple of his songs.
He fought for a long time against bone marrow cancer but sadly lost his battle and died last year at the age of 59.
