American actor Dylan McDermott was born as Mark Anthony McDermott 62 years ago in Waterbury, Connecticut, is divorced and has 2 daughters.

Dylan’s mother died when he was just 6 years old and since his parents were divorced, he and his younger sister were raised by their maternal grandmother.  When he became a teenager, McDermott visited his father and worked at his bar.  He was passionate about acting and began to imitate big actors like Humphrey Bogart and Marlon Brando.  At the age of 18, Dylan graduated from high school and 4 years later obtained a BA from university.

McDermott’s big screen debut was the 1987 movie ‘Hamburger Hill’, and 2 years later starred alongside Julia Roberts in ‘Steel Magnolias’, interpreting the role of her husband.  That same year, he was also cast in the comedy film ‘Twister’.

During the 90s, Dylan appeared in numerous films, however, his career breakthrough was when he acted in ‘In the line of Fire’ opposite Clint Eastwood in 1993.  The following year, he starred in another box-office hit movie ‘Miracle on 34th Street’.  Apart from films, Dylan acted in various TV series, both in recurring roles as well as guest starring, and also hosted a show.

In the last 2 decades, McDermott proceeded with his career and appeared in over 25 films and 20 TV series and some theatrical plays.  These include ‘Runaway Jury’, ‘Mercy’, ‘Behaving Badly’, ‘King Richard’, ‘Big Shots’, ‘Dark Blue’, ‘Hostages’, ‘Stalker’, ‘LA to Vegas’, ‘Law & Order: Organised Crime’ and ‘FBI: Most Wanted’.

So far, Dylan won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – TV Series Drama and a San Diego Film Critics Society Award for Best Performance by an Ensemble.
