Actor Kevin Norwood Bacon was born 64 years ago in Philadelphia, USA, is married and has two children.
When he was 16, Kevin attended an arts programme where he studied theatre after winning a scholarship. A year later, he went to New York and took part in a stage production as well as a comedy, however, the expected success was not achieved.
Kevin then continued to do auditions for small theatrical roles and even starred for a short time in a couple of soap operas.
His first movie debut was ‘Friday the 13th’ in 1980. After that, Kevin had a couple of stage roles, followed by several movie characters, including the famous 1984 film ‘Footloose’.
During the 90s, Kevin starred in many successful movies including ‘Temors’, ‘A Few Good Men’, ‘JFK’, ‘The River Wild’, ‘Murder in the First’ and ‘Apollo 13’, amongst others. In 1996, he even directed the film for TV ‘Losing Chase’ and managed to win a Golden Globe Award.
In the last 2 decades, Kevin starred in about 37 movies and 15 TV productions and is currently filming a new movie named ‘Leave the World Behind’. He also participated in a UK mobile network advertising campaign.
Apart from acting, Kevin is also a musician and in 1995 created the duo ‘Bacon Brothers’ together with his brother and recorded 6 albums.
‘Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon’ is a trivia game of which he is the topic. Following its creation, Kevin decided to create SixDegrees.org, which is a charitable online platform aiming to help link individuals and non-profit organizations.
During his 45-year career, Kevin received 14 awards amongst which there are a Golden Globe and a Blockbuster Entertainment.
