Lisa Jane Stansfield was born 56 years ago in Manchester, England and besides singing, she also writes songs and is an actress. She is married but has no children.
Her singing career started in 1980 when she participated in a singing contest and won. After that she composed her initial songs, inspired by artists like Barry White, Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross, and also took part in some TV shows. Then, in 1986, she formed the group Blue Zone with two former schoolmates and with whom she released an album and various singles.
But it was in 1989 that Lisa reached real success, as a solo artist with her first album ‘Affection’ and worldwide hit ‘All Around the World’. This song peaked to number one in various European countries as well as in the US.
With regards to acting, Lisa starred in her first movie in 1999 and performed on stage for the first time in 2002. In the years that followed, she continued with both her music and acting careers by releasing several albums (latest one in 2018) and taking part in films, TV shows and theatrical events.
In her long career, Lisa had 59 nominations and won no less that 38 awards, including 3 Brit, 3 DMC and 1 World Music, amongst others.
