American actor Coy Luther ‘Luke’ Perry III was born on 11th October 1966 in Mansfield, Ohio and passed away on 4th March 2019.  He was divorced and had 2 children.

Shortly after finishing his studies in high school, Luke travelled to Los Angeles to embark on an acting career.  He worked in different jobs and after 256 auditions, he was finally accepted – this was in 1988 when he was in his early twenties.  He then moved to New York where he was offered a couple of roles in 2 soap operas: ‘Loving’ and ‘Another World’.

In 1990, Perry obtained a recurring, significant role in the famous teen drama series ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’, which rendered him a teen idol.  He interpreted the character of Dylan McKay and remained in this role for 5 years when he decided to quit to seek more important roles.  However, after 3 years, i.e. in 1998, he returned to star in the series until its final season in 2000.

During that decade, apart from the series, Luke starred in 14 films such as ‘Terminal Bliss’, ‘8 seconds’, ‘American Strays’, ‘Indiscreet’ and ‘Storm’ and also acted in TV movies and voiced numerous animated film characters.

From then until his demise, Luke proceeded with his career and starred in 21 movies and 39 TV productions including TV films, sitcoms and series.  These include ‘The Triangle’, ‘Oz’, ‘Jeremiah’, ‘Will & Grace’, ‘Windfall’, ‘John from Cincinnati’, ‘Criminal Minds’, with his final appearance being in the series ‘Riverdale’.

During his career, Perry received 4 awards namely 2 Young Artist and 2 Bravo Otto.

Luke passed away on 4th March 2019 at the age of 52 after suffering two strokes.
