American actress, singer and TV personality Romina Francesca Power was born 73 years ago in Los Angeles, California, is divorced and has 4 children. She is the daughter of actor Tyrone Power and Mexican actress Linda Christian and was married to Italian singer Albano Carrisi.
When she was 9 years old, Romina moved to Italy together with her mum, stepdad and sister and there she finished elementary school. Afterwards, she travelled to England together with her mum and continued her studies.
Romina made her film debut at the age of 13 and by the end of the 60s was cast in 13 more movies, at times playing roles of a sensual nature. In 1967, she met her then-husband Albano Carrisi on the set of ‘Nel Sole’, which name was also a big hit by Albano. The got married 3 years later and formed the duo Albano & Romina Power.
Together they released 14 studio albums and 21 singles. Some of their major hits include ‘Felicita`’, ‘Ci Sara`’, ‘Nostaligia Canaglia’, ‘Sharazan’ and ‘Sempre Sempre’. Numerous albums and singles were also released in several other languages like French, German, Spanish and Portuguese. They participated 5 times in the yearly San Remo Music Festival and were the winners of the 1984 edition with the track ‘Ci Sara`’. Two years earlier, they placed 2nd with ‘Felicita`’ and 3rd place with ‘Nostalgia Canaglia’ and ‘Cara Terra Mia’ in 1987 and 1989 respectively. In addition, they competed twice in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976 and 1985, arriving 7th in both occasions.
Romina also debuted as a solo artist in 1970 and until 2014 released 4 studio albums and 15 singles. She participated solo in the SRMF in 1970 but was a non-finalist. She had a successful hit in 1982 named ‘Il Ballo del Qua Qua’, mainly aimed for children. Power gradually retired from the music scene after her divorce and concentrated more on writing books and painting. In fact, she published 7 books.
Apart from acting and singing, Romina appeared in numerous TV programmes, both as a guest and as a participant.
