Italian singer Silvia Mezzanotte was born 58 years ago in Bologna and is married.
Silvia started singing at a young age. In 1990, she participated for the first time in the yearly San Remo Music Festival and arriving in 4th place with the track ‘Sarai Grande’. In the years that followed, she collaborated with other famous Italian artists like Laura Pausini, Francesco de Gregori and Mia Martini.
In 1999, Silvia was approached by the leader of Italian group ‘Matia Bazaar’, who asked her to become its lead singer, to which she accepted. In the next 3 years, the band competed in the SRMF: in 2000 with ‘Brivido Caldo’, 2001 with ‘Questa nostra grande storia D’Amore’, arriving in 3rd place, and in 2002 they won the contest with the song ‘Messaggio D’Amore’. Immediately afterwards, the band embarked on a 2-year world tour and released their first live album.
After 5 years with ‘Matia Bazaar’, Silvia left the group to start a solo career and 2 years later her debut album was released. In 2010, she re-united with ‘Matia Bazaar’ but continued as a solo artist as well.
Silvia released 3 solo studio albums and 13 singles and 4 studio albums and 11 singles with the group. She also appeared in several TV shows like ‘San Remo Top’, Music Farm’, ‘Tutte Donne Tranne Me’, ‘Tale e Quale Show’ and ‘All Together Now – La Musica e’ cambiata’ acting as co-host, competitor, judge as well as guest. Silvia has also performed in a theatrical play in 2016 and for some years has been on tour with the show ‘Le Mie Regine’, interpreting successful, popular songs of various artists, both Italian and international.
