American actress Stephanie Zimbalist was born 68 years ago in New York City, is single and has no children. She is the daughter of the late Efrem Zimbalist Jr who was also an actor.
She first studied in a college-preparatory secondary school, then attended a college-preparatory boarding and day school, graduated and finished her studies in a private performing arts conservatory prior to embarking on an acting career.
Stephanie’s career took off in 1977 when she appeared in the movie ‘The Gathering’, followed by several films, both on the big and small screen, such as ‘Forever’, ‘The Magic of Lassie’, ‘The Babysitter’ and ‘The Best Place to Be’, starring also her dad.
Zimbalist gained popularity when she portrayed the character of Laura Holt in the then-famous series ‘Remington Steele’, alongside Pierce Brosnan and Doris Roberts. This series ran between 1982 and 1987 with a total of 94 episodes.
Once the series ended, Stephanie proceeded with her career and over the years to date has starred in 9 more big screen movies and 32 series and TV movies. These include ‘Malpractice’,’ Truth’, ‘Lucky Louie’, ‘The Hitchhiker’, ‘The Killing Mind’, ‘Touched by an Angel’, ‘Diagnosis: Murder’ and ‘Nash Bridges’, amongst others. Apart from movies and series, Zimbalist has also performed in 60 theatrical plays. Regarding other work, Stephanie released 2 audiobooks and appeared in a documentary.
Way back in 1981, she was nominated for a Saturn Award, whilst in 1991 was nominated for a Golden Globe Award, but did not win.
