Yesterday, Sunday 10th March 2024, the 96th Annual Academy Awards prestigious event took place at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation in Hollywood, Los Angeles, hosted for the 4th time by comedian Jimmy Kimmel. A total of 23 awards were presented during this evening.
Several guest singers performed the original songs of 5 nominated movies. These were Becky G, Ryan Gosling, Mark Ronson, Jon Batiste, Scott George & The Osage Singers, Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell
The award for Best Actor went to Cillian Murphy for his performance in ‘Oppenheimer‘, whilst the award for Best Actress went to Emma Stone for her performance in ‘Poor Things‘.
The Oscar for Best Supporting Actor went to Robert Downey Jr for his interpretation in ‘Oppenheimer’, whilst the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress was received by Da’Vine Joy Randolph for her role in ‘The Holdovers’.
In all, ‘Oppenheimer‘ won 7 Oscars for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score and Best Film Editing.
