American actor Alfredo James Pacino was born 83 years ago in New York City and has 3 children but never married. He is also a film director/producer and screen writer.
After junior high school, Al attended high school for Performing Arts and worked odd jobs to pay for his studies, since he had left home due to a disagreement with his mum.
He acted in plays held at a local underground theatre and joined a non-profit organisation to learn acting and 4 years later successfully became a member of a renowned entity for professional actors etc. His acting career took off in 1967 where he mainly performed in stage plays but 2 years later he made his big screen debut when he briefly acted in a comedy-drama film.
Pacino rose to fame when he was cast in the 1972 blockbuster movie ‘The Godfather’ in which he played the character of Michael Corleone, repeating the same role in its sequel 2 years later. During the 90s, Pacino starred in numerous significant films including ‘The Godfather Part III’, ‘Frankie & Johnny’, ‘Scent of a Woman’, ‘Carlito’s Way’, ‘Heat’, ‘The Devil’s Advocate’ and ‘Donnie Brasco’ amongst others.
