TODAY'S CELEBRITY BIRTHDAY... AMERICAN ACTOR ERIK ESTRADA

 

Henry Enrique Estrada was born 73 years ago in Manhattan, New York. He married three times and has three kids.  Apart from acting, he is also a police officer.

Erik started his career in 1970, when he took part in a film alongside Pat Boone. In 1972, he acted as an LAPD officer in the film ‘The New Centurions’.  The following year, he starred in an episode of ‘Hawaii Five-O and after that in the movie Airport 1975 in the role of a flight engineer.

The famous TV series ‘CHiPs’ commenced in 1978, wherein Erik starred as Frank ‘Poncherello’. Then, a year after, during the filming of one of the scenes, he was thrown from his motorcycle and seriously injured, breaking both wrists and fracturing several ribs. ‘CHiPs’ stopped in 1983.

Estrada continued to perform in various movies, sitcoms, soap operas and reality TV shows.  He also hosted TV programmes, appeared in TV commercials and music videos.
