American actress Elizabeth Banks was born on 10th February 1974 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is married and has 2 sons.
When she was a child, Elizabeth used to ride horses and play baseball and afterwards took part in school plays. As a high school graduate, she proceeded with her studies and attended university followed by a course at a theatre company where she obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree.
Elizabeth’s first film debut was in 1998 when she starred in ‘Surrender Dorothy’. More movie roles followed, but the film ‘The 40-year old Virgin’ was the one that helped her gain more popularity. In 2002, together with her future husband, Elizabeth created her own production company.
During the last 2 decades, Banks proceeded with her career and continued to act in various film genres, from romantic comedy to horror, drama to thriller to science fiction namely ‘Meet Bill’, ‘The Uninvited’, ‘The Hand that rocks the Cradle’ and ‘Hunger Games’, amongst many others. She also starred in some TV series like ‘Stella’ and ‘Scrubs’.
Apart from acting, Elizabeth also produced and directed the movie ‘Pitch Perfect’ and its two sequels plus another 2 films.
To date, Banks acted in over 50 movies and more than 30 TV programmes/series and is currently filming ‘The Beanie Bubble’ which release date is still to be announced. Elizabeth also appeared in 6 music videos and voiced characters in a couple of video games.
During her ±25-year career, Elizabeth received 12 awards.
