American actress Elizabeth Berkley was born 49 years ago in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is married and has a son.
As a kid, Elizabeth was interested in dancing and used to practise on her own at home. In later years, she wished to take dancing as a profession and went to New York to train with other dancers. She even performed in various musicals as well as ballets, plus working as a teenage model. At the age of 18, she graduated from her local high school.
Berkley’s first acting role was in the 1987 TV film ‘Frog’, as well as guest appearing in other TV programmes. Two years later, she was chosen to interpret the character of Jesse Spano in the popular teen sitcom ‘Saved by the Bell’, and played this role for 4 years, after which she left to concentrate on a movie career.
In 1995, she was offered a leading role in the controversial movie ‘Showgirls’, which turned out to be a box-office flop. Following this, Elizabeth left her talent agency and signed up with a new one. For the rest of the 90s, she played supporting/small roles in several films like ‘The First Wives Club’, ‘Roger Dodger’, ‘Moving Malcolm’ and ‘The Curse of the Jade Scorpion’, plus acting in a theatrical play.
In the last two decades, Elizabeth proceeded with her acting career and starred in some theatrical productions and numerous films, both on the small and the big screen like ‘Student Seduction’, ‘Black Widow’ and ‘Meet Market’, and many TV series such as ‘Miami Vice’, ‘Without a Trace’, ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’ and ‘CSI: Miami’. Berkley also hosted a reality show called ‘Step it Up and Dance’ and guest appeared in several other TV productions.
During her career, Elizabeth received 3 awards, all in 1995.
