George Timothy Clooney was born in Kentucky, USA on 6 May 1961, is married and has twins. Apart from being an actor, he is also a film maker.
As a teenager, he played basketball and baseball, with the aim that one of these sports would become his profession, but failed to reach his goal. He even attended University where he studied journalism, however, he never graduated.
His acting career started in 1978 with a small role in a TV series. In the next decade, he was given small and major roles in several other TV series and in 1990 he took a 5-year course in acting.
Stardom struck when George starred as a doctor in the popular medical drama ER, which ran between 1994 and 1999. Whilst working in ER, he also acted in various movies like From Dusk till Dawn, One Fine Day, The Peacemaker, Batman and Robin etc.
In the year 2000, after he left ER, George starred in more films, including Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve & Thirteen, with Ocean’s Eleven considered to be his most successful movie so far.
During the last 2 decades, Clooney continued to perform in various films of different genres, as well as produced and directed some. Apart from TV series and movies, George also appeared in several TV commercials outside the USA and even published a book. He is also involved in humanitarian work and is an active donor to numerous charities.
During his career, George achieved 2 Academy, 4 Golden Globe and 4 Screen Actors Guild Awards, amongst many others.
