
Gianluca Grignani was born in Milan, Italy, was married and has 4 children. He sings and produces songs and is also a guitarist.
In his teens, he studied the guitar and started writing songs, inspired by various groups and artists like Lucio Battisti, I Nomadi, The Beatles, Police and most of all Elvis Presley, who was his idol since the age of 6. He also played in some local pubs and clubs.
His career started in 1994 with the song ‘La Mia Storia tra le Dita’. Success peaked in 1995 at the San Remo Music Festival, with the big hit ‘Destinazione Paradiso’, which was also his first album. In just a year, over 2 million copies were sold and also won him a Telegatto. In the next two decades, he performed another 5 times at the San Remo Music Festival but never won. Meanwhile, he continued issuing albums to this day.
Gianluca performed duets with many famous Italian singers like Laura Pausini, Gianni Morandi, Antonella Ruggero and Irama, to name a few. He starred in a movie ‘Branchie’ in 1999 and wrote his auto-biography book in 2010.
