American actor Kevin Delaney Kline was born 77 years ago in St Louis, Missouri, is married to actress Phoebe Cates and has a son and a daughter.
After graduating from high school, he attended university where he initially started studying music writing, however, in the last 2 years he changed subject and studied theatre and speech.
Once graduated from university, he formed a company named ‘The Acting Company’ together with some of his classmates. They travelled around the country giving performances of several plays by Shakespeare as well as other works and a musical.
A few years passed and Kevin decided to leave the company and moved to New York, where for a short period of time he starred in a soap opera. His career continued with performances in various theatrical productions, particularly musicals like ‘The Return of the Native’ and ‘Pirates of Penzance’, ‘Hamlet and ‘Much ado about Nothing’.
At the beginning of the 80s, Kevin was given a role in the film ‘Sophie’s Choice’ and after that starred in several other movies like ‘Silverado’, ‘I love you to Death’ and ‘A Fish called Wanda’. During the 90s, he voiced characters in the musical film ‘Nutcracker’ as well as Disney’s cartoon movie ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’.
In these past 24 years, Kline acted in over 20 movies and 8 theatrical productions, as well as appeared in various TV programmes.
During his +50-year career, Kevin won 18 Awards out of 55 nominations. These include an Academy, a Screen Actors’ Guild, 3 Tony and 4 Drama Desk.
