Marc McLachlan, better known as Marti Pellow, was born 57 years ago in Clydebank, Scotland, and is the lead singer of the pop band Wet Wet Wet. He is also a songwriter as well as an actor.
When he was 17, i.e. in 1982, together with three friends, he formed the group Vortex Motion, which was later changed to Wet Wet Wet. The group’s success was mainly gained between 1988 and 1996. Amongst their various songs, there are ‘Love is All Around’, ‘Angel Eyes’ and ‘Sweet Surrender’, some of which were number one hits not just in Europe but also globally.
Marti left the group in 1999 to continue as a solo artist, however, he reformed it in 2004, but then left for good in 2017 to concentrate on his solo career. He also starred in some TV shows and musicals as well as performed in jazz clubs and festivals. His latest album ‘Stargazer’ was released in 2021.
