TODAY'S CELEBRITY BIRTHDAY... MATT LE BLANC

American actor, comedian, writer and producer Matthew Steven LeBlanc was born 58 years ago in Newton, Massachusetts, is divorced and has a child.

After graduating from high school, Matt went to college but dropped out as he wanted to start a modelling career in New York.  He, however, was turned down due to his height.

Before his acting career began, Matt worked as a carpenter.  He made his acting debut in 1987 by appearing in a TV commercial, followed by a TV drama role a year later.  Then in 1991 & 1992, he starred in a famous sitcom.  He was even given a part in music videos of popular rock band Bon Jovi as well as singers Alanis Morissette and Bob Seger.

Matt became a real superstar when he played the character of Joey Tribbiani in the much loved, popular sitcom ‘Friends’, which ran for 10 years between 1994 and 2004, starring in a total of 236 episodes.  When ‘Friends’ ended, he played the same character in another sitcom ‘Joey’ for the next 2 years.  Meanwhile, he also starred in a few movies.

LeBlanc then took a 5-year career break and resumed acting after that by starring in 3 TV series, namely ‘Episodes’, ‘Top Gear’ ( which he presented) and ‘Man with a Plan’ (which he also executively produced).

During his career so far, Matt won 6 awards namely: a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, 2 People’s Choice, a Teen Choice and a TV Guide.
