Gozitan singer-songwriter and TV personality Miriam Christine Borg was born 47 years ago in Goias, Brazil, but was adopted and brought up in Gozo. She is married and has 2 children.
As a child she learnt the piano and started singing. In her teenage years, Miriam Christine participated in several singing contests and managed to win the Malta Song for Europe Festival. Following this prestigious achievement, at the age of 17, she represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest held in Norway with the song ‘In a Woman’s Heart’ which arrived in 10th place.
After this important experience, Miriam Christine gave numerous concerts both in Malta and around many European and non-European countries.
Miriam Christine is also a music teacher and has created the Gozo Children’s Choir in 2008. She writes her own songs, both in the Maltese and English language. In fact, her winning song ‘Alone Today’ of the 2008 Malta Hit Song Contest was written by herself. Other songs include ‘Mystery Mama’, ‘L-Emigrant’, ‘Safe’ and ‘Hush’.
Miriam Christine continued her career by performing in TV shows as well as events such as weddings.
During her career, Miriam Christine won a Malta Music Award in 1995 and the Golden Palm Award the year after.
