Canadian actress Neve Adrianne Campbell was born 51 years ago in Guelph, Ontario, is in a relationship and has 2 children.
When she was 6 years old, after seeing the two-act ballet ‘Nutcracker’, Neve wanted to learn ballet and so was enrolled in dance schools and performed in ballet acts where she also suffered multiple dance-related injuries. So she quit ballet and began attending a public secondary school where she took acting and drama lessons. During the 80s, she also appeared in a couple of commercials.
In 1991, Neve made her small screen debut in an uncredited role in the series ‘My Secret Identity’, followed by a minor part in another series the year after. Campbell then obtained a main role in the music drama series ‘Catwalk’ which ran between 1992 and 1994 with a total of 49 episodes. After some guest appearances on various TV shows, Neve wished to act in movies so she travelled to Los Angeles in the hope of finding a talent manager who would represent her. Meanwhile, she attended several auditions and ended up being chosen to act in a drama TV series ‘Party of Five’ which gained a lot of popularity and helped Neve become famous. She interpreted the character of Julia Salinger and is considered as her breakthrough role.
After the series’ 6th season, however, Neve decided to quit to focus on big screen movies. After starring in 3 movies, her first significant role was in the 1996 teen supernatural horror film ‘The Craft’. During filming, she caught the attention of director Wes Craven, who is known for his work in the horror genre, who encouraged her to audition for a part in the slasher movie ‘Scream’ and she managed to obtain it, portraying Sidney Prescott. The film was a huge box-office hit and Neve was praised for her performance.
Campbell reprised her role in the 4 sequels of ‘Scream’ released in 1997, 2000, 2011 and 2022, and is expected to star in ‘Scream 7’, to be released in February 2026. From 1996 to date, Neve appeared in over 25 movies and 20 TV productions.
Neve is also a philanthropist and supports charities who fight against world hunger and poverty as well as breast cancer.
