Nicholas David Kershaw was born on 1st March 1958 in Bristol, England, is married and has 4 children. He sings and writes songs, is a record producer and musician.
At school, he learnt to play the guitar on his own and in later years left his studies to start working. At the time, he also sang in a few bands before embarking on a solo career in 1983. His debut single was ‘I won’t let the sun go down on Me’ which made it in the Top 50 in the UK. Just a few months after, Nik released the number 4 UK hit ‘Wouldn’t it be Good’ which was also extremely successful in many European countries.
His second album ‘The Riddle’ was equally successful and included the tracks ‘The Riddle’, ‘Wide Boy’ and ‘Don Quixote’. His next 2 albums, however, did not achieve the expected success.
Nik then started working with other artists like Elton John, Kim Wilde and the group Let Loose by writing songs for them as well as playing various instruments for their songs and continued to do so for the last 3 decades. Meanwhile, he also released 6 more albums.
In recognition to his services towards music, in 2019, Suffolk University gifted Kershaw with an Honorary Doctorate.
