As a student, Tobey was thinking about taking culinary lessons to become a chef, however, he abandoned this idea after his mother gave him some money to take drama classes instead.
His acting career took off in 1989 with the movie ‘Wizard’ when he was still a teenager. During the 1990s, he continued starring in several film and TV characters, as well as various commercials alongside other famous actors like Chuck Norris and Roseanne Barr.
He met another popular actor, Leonardo Di Caprio, during auditions and they became friends. They ‘agreed’ to assist each other to obtain movie roles and succeeded. Some of the films he starred in include ‘The Wonder Boys’, ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ and ‘Pleasantville’, amongst others.
Tobey rose to fame in the 2000s when he had the leading role in the 3 movies of ‘Spiderman’. Maguire starred in about 10 other films and this year he will probably be producing a movie named ‘Babylon’, however, this is still to be announced.
Since 2002, he produced 13 films. To date, Tobey won 8 awards including 2 Saturn and 2 Teen Choice, amongst others.
