American actor, film producer and singer Jeff Bridges was born 75 years ago as Jeffrey Leon Bridges in Los Angeles, California, is married and has 3 daughters. His parents were both actors, as is his brother Beau.
Jeff appeared on the big screen for the first time when he was just a baby in 1951, and as a youngster appeared in some TV series alongside both his dad as well as his brother. After starring in a couple of movies, he was given a more significant role in the 1971 film ‘The Last Picture Show’. For the rest of the 70s, Bridges acted in several other movies such as ‘Fast City’, ‘The Last American Hero’, ‘Thunderbolt and Lightfoot’ and ‘King Kong’.
Jeff’s career continued with acting in numerous films of different genres including thrillers, romantic comedies, action, drama, fantasy, sci-fi etc. To name a few: ‘Tron’, ‘Against All Odds’, ‘Jagged Edge’, ‘The Big Lebowski’, ‘Arlington Road’, ‘Fearless’, ‘Scenes of the Crimes’, ‘Seabiscuit’, ‘The Open Road’, ‘True Grit’ and ‘Only the Brave’. He also voiced several animated movie characters and appeared in various TV series episodes. In 2025, Bridges is expected to reprise his role as Kevin Flynn in the upcoming sci-fi action movie named ‘Tron: Ares’.
Apart from his career as an actor, Jeff is also a singer. In fact, as a kid, he learnt to play the piano and as an adult also played the guitar. He released 3 studio albums, a single and a music video.
Bridges is also a philanthropist and has co-founded ‘End Hunger Network’ in 1984 with the intention of raising more awareness and eventually ending childhood hunger. He has also published 3 books, two of which are photographs taken by himself.
During his long career, Jeff received 16 awards, including an Academy, 2 Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild.
