Australian singer and actor Jason Sean Donovan was born 54 years ago, is married and has 3 children.
At the age of 11, he appeared for the first time in a TV series in a guest role and also starred in a couple of other series after that. Then, in 1986, he became part of the cast of the famous soap opera ‘Neighbours’ alongside singer Kylie Minogue, who played his girlfriend. Whilst starring in the soap, he also appeared in ‘Heroes, a World War II mini-series.
Even though he was still acting in ‘Neighbours’, in 1988 Jason released ‘Nothing can divide Us’, his first single, which placed 5th in the UK charts. A few months later, the number one hit ‘Especially for You’ sung in duet with Kylie Minogue was released. Another two number one hits followed, being ‘Too many broken Hearts’ and ‘Sealed with a Kiss’.
In 1990, Jason toured several countries and went on to record more albums, however, they were not very successful as the previous ones. Although he did continue with his music career, he was more focused on acting.
During his 35-year career, Jason released 19 albums, spread among compilation, studio, video and cast recording and his records sold more than 3 million copies in the UK alone. In addition, he starred in about 30 productions, being TV and video game series, soap operas and movies. He also performed in 4 stage roles.
In 1991, Jason won an Australian Entertainment Mo Award for Australian Showbusiness Ambassador.
