Richard Bartlett Schroder was born on 13th April 1970 in Brooklyn, New York, USA, is divorced and has 4 children.  He is a former actor, film director and producer.

When he was a kid, Ricky appeared in several commercials and by the age of 6 had already been in about 60 adverts.  His acting career took off when he was just 9 years old when he starred in the drama sports movie ‘The Champ’ alongside actor Jon Voight.  Subsequently, his parents decided to take him out of school so that he can focus on acting.  So, the following year, Ricky was cast in 2 films, namely ‘The Last Flight of Noah’s Ark’ and ‘Little Lord Fauntleroy’.

Ricky rose to fame in 1982 when he played the character of Ricky Stratton in the famous sitcom ‘Silver Spoons’ which ran for 4 years until 1986.  After the sitcom, he found it difficult to get any roles and so started attending high school, graduated and proceeded with his studies at college.

Schroder continued with his career for circa another 28 years until 2016.  During those years, he starred in 10 movies and about 35 TV productions including made-for-television films, series and reality shows, amongst others, some of which he also produced and directed.

During his career, Ricky received a Golden Globe award, 3 Young Artists awards, a Best Director award, Best Music Video award and a CMT Music award.
