American retired actress Catherine Mary Hicks was born 73 years ago in New York City, is married and has a daughter.
During her childhood, she moved to Arizona with her family and then attended college in Indiana. Catherine then won an esteemed acting fellowship for university and went on to obtain a master’s degree in fine arts. She was also a member of a theatrical company.
In summer of 1976, Hicks decided to travel to New York seeking for a job and soon got hired to work in TV commercials. Just 2 weeks later, she made her acting debut in a leading role in the soap opera ‘Ryan’s Hope’. After 18 months, she quit that part as she was chosen to perform in a theatrical play. Some time later, Catherine starred in a TV series called ‘Sparrow’.
Hicks then moved once again, this time to California, to act in a sitcom, followed by some roles in TV productions. In 1980, Catherine was chosen amongst hundreds of actresses to interpret the legendary Marilyn Monroe in the movie ‘Marilyn Monroe: the Untold Story’, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award.
From then until her retirement from acting in 2023, Catherine continued with her career and appeared in 26 films of different genres and 39 TV movies/series. These include: ‘Death Valley’, ‘The Razor’s Edge’, ‘Child’s Play’, ‘Turbulence’, ‘Reach’, ‘Tucker’s Witch’, ‘Winnetka Road’, ‘7th Heaven’ , ‘Poison Ivy: the Secret Society’, ‘Borderline Murder’ and ‘Honeymoon from Hell’.
