American actress and film producer Demi Moore was born 62 years ago as Demi Gene Guynes in Roswell, New Mexico, is divorced and has 3 children. She was previously married to 2 famous actors: Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher.
At the age of 16, Demi quit high school to start working as a receptionist and 2 years later enrolled with a modelling agency as well as started attending drama classes. In 1981, she made her big screen debut with a small role in the film ‘Choices’, followed by a part in the sci-fi horror movie ‘Parasites’ the year after. She was then cast in the famous soap opera ‘General Hospital’.
Moore then starred in a couple of other movies but her career breakthrough arrived in 1985 when she acted in ‘St Elmo’s Fire’ alongside Rob Lowe and Emilio Estevez, amongst others. For the rest of the 80s, Demi took part in 4 more films, and in 1990, she interpreted the character of Molly Jensen in her most successful movie ‘Ghost’ with Patrick Swayze and Whoopi Goldberg. It helped her gain worldwide fame and since then was offered more significant roles. By the mid-90s, Moore starred in big movies like ‘A Few Good Men’, ‘Indecent Proposal’ and ‘Disclosure’, however, the films she acted in by the end of that decade were not as successful as expected and her career took a negative turn.
After a 3-year hiatus to take care of her daughters, Demi returned to the big screen and resumed her career with a role in ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle’ in 2003. Since then, she has starred in over 20 movies and 6 TV series, as well as directed a short film and a made-for-TV movie.
Moore is supposed to take part in an upcoming adventure sci-fi comedy movie called ‘I love Boosters’ which is currently undergoing filming, as well as the main protagonist in a drama TV series called ‘Landman’, both to be released next year. In 2019, she also published a memoir.
Demi is an active philanthropist and supports numerous charitable institutions regarding child abuse, human trafficking, slavery, the homeless, AIDS etc. She has also travelled to countries which were struck by earthquakes and gave them a helping hand where needed.
During her long career, Moore received 9 awards, including a Saturn, a People’s Choice and a Hollywood Film, amongst others.
