American actor and martial artist Linden Ashby was born 64 years ago as Clarence Linden Garnett Ashby III in Atlantic Beach, Florida. He is married to actress Susan Walters and has 2 daughters.
After graduating from private school, Linden attended a liberal arts college but left to move to New York City to study acting. In 1985, he made his acting debut when he was cast in the famous soap opera ‘Loving’, interpreting the character of Curtis Alden. Two years later, Ashby starred in the mini-series ‘Poor Little Rich Girl: the Barbara Hutton Story’.
Until the mid-90s, Linden guest appeared in numerous TV series episodes as well as TV films, soap operas and movies such as ‘Into the Sun’, ‘Wyatt Earp’, ‘China Beach’, ‘MacGyver’ and ‘Melrose Place’, amongst others. Since he has a martial arts background, in 1995, Ashby was offered the role of Johnny Cage in the cult classic movie ‘Mortal Kombat’.
Over the next 3 decades, Linden proceeded with his career and acted in more big screen and small screen movies of different genres, TV series, sitcoms, soap operas etc. In 2020, he also voiced the character of Johnny Cage in the video game ‘Mortal Kombat II’. His latest work was in the supernatural thriller drama movie ‘Teen Wolf: the Movie’ in 2023. Linden was nominated thrice for an award but never won.
