American actress, author and former game show host Mayim Chaya Bialik was born 49 years ago in San Diego, California, is divorced and has 2 sons.
After graduating from high school in 1993, Mayim attended university and first obtained a B. Sc degree and years later a PhD in neuroscience.
Her acting career began in the late 80s as a child actress, starring in the supernatural horror film ‘Pumpkinhead’. Afterwards, she appeared in sitcoms like ‘Webster’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and ‘MacGyer’, as well as had a role in the movie ‘Beaches’.
At the beginning of the 90s, Mayim was chosen to star in 2 other sitcoms, namely ‘Molloy’ and ‘Blossom’. ‘Molloy’ lasted only 6 episodes, however, ‘Blossom’, was more successful and Bialik had the leading role of Blossom Russo. This sitcom aired for 5 years between 1990 and 1995. During that decade, she also guest appeared in TV shows, sitcoms, TV series, as well as voiced several animated series characters. These include ‘Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?’, ‘Hey Arnold!’ and ‘The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest’.
In the last 2½ decades, Mayim proceeded with her career and continued to act in TV series, movies, voice animated characters. Probably, her most popular character she interpreted is that of Amy Farrah Fowler in the TV sitcom ‘The Big Bang Theory’ which ran between 2010 and 2019. Bialik also hosted a few TV shows, appeared in some/lent her voice in some Web series and video games.
Apart from acting, Mayim published 7 books, 2 academic and 5 non. She also supports various charitable institutions.
During her career so far, Bialik won 6 awards namely: a Keter Shem Tov, a Young Artist, 2 Online Film and Television Association and 2 Critics’ Choice Television.
