George Richard Chamberlain was born 88 years ago in Beverly Hills, California, USA. He is an actor as well as a singer.
His career took off in the 1950’s, when he took part in some TV series. In 1960, he starred in the series ‘Riverboat’ and less than a year later, he rose to fame with his role in ‘Dr Kildare’, which ran until 1966. In that same period, Richard released some songs as well. When ‘Dr Kildare’ ended, Richard started taking part in theatrical performances such as ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, ‘My Fair Lady’ and ‘The Sound of Music’, and continued for the decades that followed. Then, in the 1970’s, he starred in numerous films, amongst which there are ‘The Three Musketeers’ and ‘The Man in the Iron Mask’. In the 1980’s, he performed, amongst other series, in the famous ‘The Thornbirds’ as Fr Ralph alongside actress Rachel Ward and the movie ‘The Bourne Identity’.
In the last two decades, Chamberlain continued with his career, particularly acting in various TV series and is still active till the present day.
Richard won 3 Golden Globe and 2 Golden Apple Awards, amongst others, during his long career.
