American actor, producer, writer and singer-songwriter David William Duchovny was born 64 years ago in New York City, is divorced and has 2 children.
After graduating from college, David continued with his studies in 2 different universities, obtaining both a BA and an MA in English Literature. He proceeded with working on a PH.D, however, did not manage to finish it.
In 1987, David appeared in a beer advert and the following year had a non-speaking role in the movie ‘Working Girl’. Until 1992, he had a couple of minor roles in the TV series ‘Twin Peaks’ and the film ‘Beethoven’ as well as was cast in the biographical-drama comedy film ‘Chaplin’.
Then, in 1993, Duchovny was offered a leading role in the famous sci-fi TV series ‘The X-Files’, interpreting the character of FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder in a total of 191 episodes, ending in 2002. This series turned out to be a major TV hit, to the surprise of David himself, as he believed it would not last long.
For the rest of the 90s, David starred in another 3 movies, one of which was ‘The X-Files: Fight the Future’, as well as appeared in some TV shows and voiced several animated movie characters.
From the year 2000 to date, Duchovny was cast in over 25 films and more than 12 TV series. These include: ‘Zoolander’, ‘Full Frontal’, ‘Trust the Man’, ‘The X-Files: I want to Believe’, ‘Phantom’, ‘The Bubble’, ‘Adam the First’, ‘Primetime Glick’, ‘Californication’, ‘Aquarius’, ‘The Chair’ and ‘The Symphatizer’. He is expected to star in an upcoming movie called ‘Feel’ as well as a TV production named ‘Malice’ in 2025. He has also written and directed some films, as well as voiced characters in 4 video games.
Besides acting, David released 3 studio albums and published 6 books. He supports environmentalism and is very keen about electric car technology.
During his career so far, Duchovny won 15 awards, including 2 Golden Globe, 2 TV Guide and a Satellite.
