English pop Italo disco singer and teacher Edward Huntington was born 59 years ago in Peterlee, County Durham, was married twice and has 2 children.
At school, he learnt the oboe and the violin, and his number one music inspiration was Cliff Richard. He also like Phil Collins and Eurythmics. When he was 18 years old, Eddy moved to London where he worked as a model as well as a video extra.
That same year, i.e. 1983, he caught the attention of the owners of an Italian record label company and ended up going to Milan to record the track ‘U.S.S.R.’ and that is when his music career began. This song was released in 1986 and was a very successful hit both in Europe and in the Soviet Union. By the end of that decade, Huntington released 6 more singles plus a studio album.
In the early 90s, Eddy released the single ‘Hey Senorita’ but then ‘abandoned’ his music career as he wished to become a primary school teacher. So he took the training required and eventually taught year 1 children, not just normal everyday lessons but also singing and drama lessons after school. His wife and himself then moved to Thailand for a couple of years where he continued to teach. Eddy’s youngest son was born and so the couple returned back to England, and he became a primary school Head.
In the last 2 decades, Huntington released 5 singles, the latest being in 2017 named ‘Warsaw in the Night (Cinderella)’. In 2005, he opened the Discoteka 80s concerts held in Moscow and St Petersburg where several 80s pop stars performed. These included Alphaville, Sabrina Salerno, Sauvage and Bonnie Tyler, amongst others.
