American actress Jennifer Grey was born 64 years ago in New York City, is divorced and has a daughter.
Jennifer attended a private school where she studied acting and dancing and after graduating she attended a school of theatre and trained acting for two years, during which time she also worked as a waitress.
At 19, Grey made her TV debut by appearing in a Dr Pepper commercial and 5 years later starred in her first movie with a minor role in ‘Reckless’, followed by similar parts in ‘The Cotton Club’ and ‘Red Dawn’, all released during the same year, i.e. 1984. After a couple of other films, she rose to stardom when she interpreted Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman in the famous 1987 classic movie ‘Dirty Dancing’ alongside actor Patrick Swayze. Surprisingly, this movie was a huge success and led Jennifer to being nominated for the Golden Globe Award as best actress.
Since then to date, Grey acted in about 15 films, plus voicing a couple of characters in animated movies. These include ‘Wind’, ‘Bounce’, ‘Redbelt’, ‘In your Eyes’ and ‘A Real Pain’, amongst others. She is also expected to star in an upcoming movie called ‘Wish you were Here’. In addition, she has also appeared in around 28 TV movies and series as well as talent shows like ‘Criminal Justice’, ‘Friends’, ‘Outrage’, ‘Phineas and Herb’, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’.
