Danish singer Whigfield was born 54 years ago as Sannie Charlotte Carlson in Skaelskor, is engaged and does not have children. She is also known as Naan and Sannie. Her stage name Whigfield was chosen as a tribute to her school music teacher. Sannie is also a songwriter, record producer and model.
As a kid, Sannie lived for many years in Africa, then returned to Denmark. She studied music and also worked as a model prior to embarking on a singing career.
Sannie worked with an Italian producer who helped her release her debut single ‘Saturday Night’ in 1993, which also featured in her debut album ‘Whigfield’ 2 years later. It became an international hit and reached number one on the music charts of 5 European countries namely Germany, Switzerland, UK, Spain and Ireland. It was a number 2 hit in Italy and France. For the rest of the 90s, she had another three European hits: ‘Another Day’, ‘Think of You’ and ‘Sexy Eyes’.
During her career so far, Whigfield released 5 studio albums, 10 compilation albums, 27 singles and and 6 promotional singles.
